Clubs
MYTT Clubs, also known as camps in some regions, are 8-week programs students can join for the opportunity to hone their skills in designing, building, programming, and testing.
Saturday Morning Robotics Club
Grades: 4th – 8th
As a part of the robotics club, students will have the opportunity to hone their skills in designing, building, programming, and testing a fully functioning robot. Students in this program gain skills in engineering, logical reasoning, and most importantly teaming up with classmates to solve problems. They also hone their creativity and problem-solving skills through collaborative teamwork.
Students will learn:
- How to build MINDSTORMS robot
- Visual programming using the Lego EV3 software
- Program and use motors & sensors
- How to use gears and gear ratios
Robotics Engineering
Club
Grades: 9th – 12th
Our fun and exciting Robotic Engineering Club is designed for teens ages 14-18. This club is ideal for students who enjoy problem-solving and want to develop personal skills through working in a collaborative team setting. Students will have fun building robots and competing in robotics missions. This Robotic Engineering Club provides a strong foundation for future study in computer engineering, math, mechanical engineering, and other STEM subjects.
Students will learn:
- How to use proper gear ratios to create speed or torque
- To accomplish tasks using analog and digital sensors
- Programming control structures
- How to participate in robotics challenges
Coding Club
For Ages 9-13
IN DEVELOPMENT
Students will learn the basics of fundamental programming. Students can look forward to producing several different interactive games to share with their friends and family.
MYTT Robotics Teams
Active participants in the robotics club will have the opportunity to compete in the Robotic Competitions later in the year. Being a member of Robotics Club does not guarantee a spot on one of the robotics teams. Students must display a desire to compete, a commitment to the team and a willingness to put in the hours required to get everything completed on time. We also require that all students pass all classes, and display positive behaviors in class and in meetings.
